About
The number in the advertisement, and the number that reaches your account.
Investments Playbook exists because of a gap between two numbers.
The first number is the one in the advertisement. Seven percent yield. Guaranteed returns. Prime location. It is produced by marketing departments, it is not usually false, and it is almost never the number that answers the question you were actually asking.
The second number is what reaches your account. It is lower, sometimes by a lot, and working it out takes ten minutes and a willingness to include the costs the first number left out.
This site publishes the second number, and the method for getting to it.
What is here
The Brief. Most weekday mornings, three items on global markets and property. Each one follows the same structure: what happened, what it means, and what it means for your portfolio. Three minutes. Free.
The Playbooks. A library of the frameworks that survive contact with reality. Each page gives you the rule, the arithmetic, and an honest list of where the framework breaks. That last section is the one most sites leave out and the one that stops you misapplying a good idea.
The Calculators. Eight tools that run the arithmetic on your own numbers, in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, nothing is stored, and there is no sign up.
The Glossary. Forty-seven terms this industry uses loosely and expensively, each defined in the way that matters for a decision rather than the way that matters for a brochure.
The Data. Live figures for equities, rates, commodities, currencies, crypto and property, refreshed daily by an automated pipeline that publishes its own health record. Every figure names its source and its timestamp.
Who writes it
Soliman Hossam Eldin has spent thirteen years in the UAE property market, in senior sales and marketing roles at OneLink Properties, D and B Properties, Property Shop Investment, FAM Properties and Landmark Group. That is the side of the table that sees the numbers before the brochure does.
That background is a qualification and a conflict at the same time, and both are declared. The disclosure standards page sets out exactly how commercial relationships are handled, how figures are sourced, how corrections are made, and how the daily brief is produced.
What this is not
It is not personal advice, and it never will be. Nothing here knows your tax position, your family, your liabilities or your nerve. The frameworks are general, your circumstances are not, and the gap between the two is exactly the space a regulated professional exists to fill.
It is not promotional. If a framework has a failure mode, it is on the page. If a widely repeated number is contested, the contest is on the page too. A research site that only publishes the evidence supporting its own conclusions is an advertisement with footnotes.
And it is not a stock tip service. There are no picks here, no price targets, and no forecasts stated as fact. There is arithmetic, there are frameworks, and there is the discipline to publish both honestly.
Get in touch
Every route to the desk is on the contact page, including the one for corrections. If a figure on this site is wrong, that is the page to use, and the correction gets published whether or not anyone else noticed.
If you would rather start by reading, download the Playbook. It comes with the framework library in one document, and it puts you on the daily brief.
